Pre-Service Preparation

• Gather necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, and coveralls.
• Prepare cleaning and disinfecting supplies, including biohazard bags, disinfectants, and absorbent materials.
• Review any specific incident details and assess the scene remotely if possible to plan the cleanup process.

During Service

• Secure the area to ensure no unauthorized personnel enter the scene during the cleanup.
• Carefully remove any biohazardous material and dispose of it according to local regulations.
• Thoroughly clean and disinfect all surfaces affected by the incident, paying special attention to porous materials that may retain contaminants.

Post-Service Verification

• Conduct a final walkthrough of the area to ensure all biohazardous materials have been removed and cleaned.
• Document the cleanup process, including before-and-after photos and waste disposal records.
• Provide the client with a completion certificate and any necessary documentation for insurance purposes.

Local Requirements

• Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations regarding biohazard cleanup.
• Verify that all waste disposal methods meet state and federal guidelines.
• Check if there are specific reporting requirements for certain types of incidents to local authorities.
