Pre-Service Preparation

• Assess the basement for items to be removed (furniture, boxes, appliances, etc.)
• Gather necessary supplies (trash bags, gloves, cleaning supplies, etc.)
• Ensure proper ventilation in the basement to avoid inhaling dust or mold

During Service

• Remove all items from the basement, sorting them into keep, donate, recycle, and trash categories
• Clean the floors and surfaces as items are removed, addressing any areas of mold or mildew
• Dispose of items according to local waste management guidelines (schedule pickups for large items if necessary)

Post-Service Verification

• Review the space to ensure all unwanted items have been removed
• Check for any remaining cleanliness issues (e.g., dust, mold) and address accordingly
• Inspect for any damages or repairs needed in the basement (walls, flooring, etc.)

Local Requirements

• Verify local disposal regulations for hazardous materials (e.g., paints, chemicals)
• Ensure compliance with local charity organizations for donation pickups
• Check for any necessary permits if extensive cleaning or renovations will follow the cleanout
